The CINE 4 x 5.65″ Black Diffusion 1/8 Filter from SmallRig helps to reduce the value of the highlights while slightly lowering the overall contrast and producing a halo effect. This filter is especially useful for smoothing out and softening facial wrinkles and other blemishes to resemble soft, old-fashioned film drama look. The optical glass filter is designed for use with 4 x 5.65″ matte boxes and features 22 layers of nano anti-glare and anti-smudge coatings. While designed for use with movies, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or soft focus filter, black diffusion filters provide little loss of detail across the image. The 1/8 density provides contrast and highlight reduction while still allowing for a soft, pastel-like quality of light. Consistent Color Reproduction Dual-sided 22-layer nano coating with anti-glare, anti-smudge, and anti-scratch coating on the optical glass creates a soft, film-like texture with reliable color accuracy across the spectrum. Cinematic Halo Effect The filter produces a high-quality halo effect with a frosted texture that harkens back to the classic aesthetics of traditional film.
